Community Engagement

Mission and Overview

The CTRC Community Engagement Office seeks to improve the health of Western New York residents through the alignment of community, research and training priorities and to more quickly assimilate findings from evidence-based research into clinical and community practice. The office will leverage existing strengths and formalize its commitment to the community by:

  • Engaging the community in clinical research
  • Creating a bidirectional communication system between researchers and community partners
  • Recruiting and retaining minorities for clinical trials
  • Expanding service learning opportunities
  • Integrating research and policy
