Newly Recruited Translational Researchers Joining the CTRC
The Department of Medicine has recently announced the recruitment of two key leadership positions that will be filled by internationally recognized translational researchers who are moving their research programs to the CTRC.
Dr. Andrew Talal, Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition joined the faculty on September 2012. Dr. Talal is a leading investigator in the area of hepatitis C and has published landmark work in the development and testing of new antiviral agents and biomarkers of the disease. His work will involve performing clinical trials in the Clinical Research Center and laboratory-based investigations on samples he will obtain during the conduct of the trials. Dr.Talal comes to UB from Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Richard Quigg, will join the faculty in January 2013 as Chief of the Division of Nephrology and Arthur M. Morris Chair in Nephrology. Dr. Quigg is renowned for his work on elucidating the mechanisms of glomerular disease, in particular the role of complement. Dr. Quigg comes to UB from the University of Chicago
